This year, we plan to build a beautiful succah in our Elias Room. As always, this succah will be decorated lavishly and lovingly by the Shearith Israel Sisterhood, who also sponsors Succot kiddushim for all congregants to enjoy. Teens and adults, women and men, are invited to help decorate in preparation for the Succot Festival. To participate in this fun mitzvah, sign up here.

Youth Decoration Times

Wednesday, September 27 | 5:00 – 6:30 pm | Pizza will be served!

Young families, kids, and teens — come help decorate our Paved Paradise succah! This year we’ll be repurposing old CDs to create shimmery, shiny Succot-themed ornaments. Thanks to the Sisterhood, we’ll also have lovely greens, but we’re counting on you to add the color!

We’ll supply the art supplies as well as some old CDs, but if you also have some old CDs to upcycle, bring them along. Better yet, bring your friends. Let us know who’s coming at srosenberg@shearithisrael.org so we’ll have enough pizza for all!

Succah Decoration Fund

Financial contributions to the Sisterhood’s Succah Fund are also welcome to help defray the costs of decorating and maintaining the succah. To make a contribution to the Sisterhood Succah Fund, please either send a check made out to “Sisterhood of the Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue” indicating “succah fund” in the memo, or make a donation online here.
