Attend an evening of conversation inspired by the Jewish Museum’s current exhibition Circa 1776, exploring the lives of Jews in Colonial America, co-presented with Congregation Shearith Israel, founded in 1654 as the first Jewish congregation established in North America. Hear from Rev. Zachary Edinger, our Sexton and Ritual Director, and Laura Leibman, Leonard J. Milberg ’53 Professor in American Jewish Studies, Princeton University, who will touch upon the works loaned to the exhibition by Congregation Shearith Israel, and the relationship between personal and ritual objects.
