SPRING FUNDRAISER GALA 2026
Tuesday Evening, June 16
Start your evening with Rabbi Meir Soloveichik after closing hours at The NY Historical’s new Tang Wing for American Democracy for an exclusive preview before it opens to the public of its forthcoming exhibit on the story of American liberty.
Together we will discover the symbolism, significance, and story of many historic artifacts including:
• Shearith Israel’s desecrated colonial-era Torah scroll
• A statue of Thomas Jeerson commissioned by our member, Commodore Uriah Phillips Levy
• Original “Declarations”— one signed by Loyalists and an original 1776 Declaration of Independence
• The Bible of George Washington’s first Inauguration
• Treasures of American art from the 18th and 19th century
Be a part of history as we mark 250 years of our country, of Judaism in the United States, and of Shearith Israel’s role in the Story of American Independence.
All guests will receive a beautiful content-rich Commemorative Booklet created by Rabbi Soloveichik based on his major Semiquincentennial Lecture Series. All sponsors will be recognized in this enduring Semiquincentennial keepsake.
