Sisterhood

To view all our upcoming programs, including Sisterhood events, visit our calendar here.

Founded in 1896, the Sisterhood is a separate non-profit entity that has a number of communal responsibilities. The Sisterhood is continuing its service to the synagogue with the popular Stitch & Fix meetings where members repair and maintain the textiles that adorn our sanctuary. The Sisterhood also ensures that a special welcome package is sent to all new mothers in the Congregation.

Additionally, the Sisterhood also embraces a number of roles to enhance the celebration of various holidays throughout the year. Every year for Purim, the Sisterhood organizes the distribution of beautiful Mishloah Manot packages among our congregants. For Succot, Sisterhood creates an extraordinary Succah in the Elias Room, and during Shabuot decorates the Sanctuary with lush floral décor.

Last but not least, the Sisterhood is also engaged in a variety of ongoing cultural programming, including Zoom film festivals with discussions led by an industry insider, cooking events celebrating our unique heritage, and writing workshops led by an award-winning congregant.

Follow the synagogue newsletter or check our website calendar for details and registration for upcoming events.

The Sisterhood meets monthly and welcomes new members. To learn more or get involved, contact Sisterhood President Rivka Shoulson (Wiznia) here.
