 's premier medical care and research facilities\, is located in Southern I
 srael\, and was a first responder hospital most directly affected by Octob
 er 7th.\n\nDr. Greenbaum will discuss the war and Soroka's response\, his 
 experiences treating cancer patients during wartime\, as well as speak abo
 ut new innovation in his work in the field of hematology.\nRegister here &

 ancer Department\nSoroka University Medical Center\n\nDr. Uri Greenbaum at
 tended medical school in Beer Sheva and went on to a residency in internal
  medicine and a sub-specialty in hematology at Soroka University Medical C
 enter.\n\nAfter completing board certification in Israel\, Dr. Greenbaum w
 as the first fellow in a new program at the University of Texas MD Anderso
 n Cancer Center in Houston\, Texas. The two-year fellowship was a clinical
  and research program in cellular therapy for cancer\, a novel therapeutic
  approach for treating malignancies using the immune system.\n\nIn August 
 2021 Dr. Greenbaum returned to Soroka Medical Center and initiated a cellu
 lar therapy program\, focusing on CAR T therapy for lymphoma and leukemia.
  He has since treated patients in the underserved Negev region with this n
 ovel therapy and is now planning to expand the service to experimental the
 rapies and local production of the treatment\, enabling state-of-the-art c
 are for his patients.\n\nHe is also a lecturer at Ben-Gurion University an
 d has published scientific papers in journals in the field of hemo-oncolog
 y. He now consults for companies on cellular therapy.
