Burial Fees:
Sheairth Israel does not sell plots at Beth Olam Cemetery. Rather, burial is a right of membership for full-members of the congregation. See below for special policies pertaining to non-members who wish to be buried at Beth Olam Cemetery
Although members do not purchase plots, all burials do incur a grave opening and maintenance fee.

MONUMENTS
Shearith Israel does not sell monuments. However, monument selection and inscriptions must be approved by the synagogue. Charges for the foundation vary depending on the type and size.

Non Members:
Burial is a right of membership, non-members may not be buried in Shearith Israel’s cemetery unless: The non-member has an immediate relative buried in Shearith Israel’s cemetery, or by special permission of the Board of Trustees. In such cases: A “Special Cemetery Fee” (in addition to the applicable interment fee) will be applied. The Special Cemetery Fee for non-members is calculated as three times the full individual membership rate at the time of the request (currently for 2024: 3 x $2300 = $6,900). While structured as a special fee – this fee can be thought of as acquiring “retroactive” membership status.
