NEW - Rabbi H.D. HaLevy, Gentle Scholar and Courageous Thinker
By Rabbis Marc and Hayyim Angel
Rabbi Haim David HaLevy (1924-1998) was on of the great Rabbinic luminaries of his era. A prolific author and teacher, he was a gifted halakhic scholar, a devotee of kabbala and a creative thinker who applied Torah wisdom to the dilemmas of modern times. From 1972 until his death he served as the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Tel Aviv.
In this book, Rabbis Marc and Hayyim Angel provide an analysis of the teachings of Rabbi Halevy on a wide range of topics: confronting modernity, rabbinic responsibility and authority, metaphysical issues, questions of faith, the role of customs, Jewish education, governing the Jewish State and more. Rabbi Halevy was a gentle, thoughtful scholar. He was also a courageous thinker who was not afraid to consider old questions in a new light, and to break new ground in the field of Torah studies.

Choosing to be Jewish
By Rabbi Marc D. Angel
Conversion to Judaism is a significant and growing phenomenon. Decisions about conversion today will have a continuing impact for generations to come.
The argument of this book is that the Orthodox community needs to be actively engaged in helping would be converts to enter the fold of Israel. Since non-halakhic conversions are so problematic for the future of the Jewish people, it is vital that realistic halakhic alternatives be encouraged.
The halakha provides a meaningful and accessible way for non-Jews to join in the Jewish people and religion. This book includes essays by halakhic converts that let us understand the issue of conversion from the perspective of those who have actually undergone the process.

Losing the Rat Race-Winning at Life
By Rabbi Marc D. Angel
In the rush to meet the challenges and pressures of life, we don't always allow ourselves the time to contemplate the meaning of our realities. Why are we here? What do we hope to accomplish with our lives? Where are we headed, and what is genuinely important?
The good news is that we live in an exciting, fast-paced world that can provide us with many good things. The bad news is that on some level we find ourselves feeling stuck in a rat race that lacks ultimate meaning. This book sheds light on the obstacles of the rat race, stimulates thought about the direction of our lives, and helps us draw on our strengths to get beyond the mundane.
