Janet R. Kirchheimer’s poem, Taut, won Honorable Mention in the 2010 Tiferet: A Journal of Spiritual Literature poetry contest.

Elisheva Lambert’s work, Ophelia’s Flowers #8, was one of the thirty pieces selected among several hundred admissions for the international juried exhibition, “30 Artists 30 Years: Thirty League Artists from 1980 to 2011,” at The Art Students League at the Phyllis Harriman Mason Gallery in New York.

Alexander Levi and Amanda Schachter were featured in The New York Times on October 27 for their sculptures built on New York waterways made out of garbage including soda bottles, umbrella spokes, and discarded Metrocards.

Our Honorary Trustee Jonathan de Sola Mendes (aged 91) and his grandson David Marks completed the Marines Marathon in Washington, D.C. Yehudit Robinson and Joshua Rozenberg completed the New York Marathon.

Rev. Salomon Vaz Dias gave a lecture at the Jewish Museum on “Spanish and Portuguese Jews in World War II in the Netherlands.”

Rabbi Hayyim Angel continues to lecture, primarily on Bible, in other communities. Recent lectures include the Rutgers Hillel, Congregation Netivot Shalom in Baltimore, and Torah in Motion in Toronto. He also served as moderator at a book launch for Rabbi Moshe Shamah’s new commentary on the Torah, Recalling the Covenant.
