TEEN BOYS SHABBAT
MORNING SERVICE MAY 15
GIRLS RUTH READING MAY 19

Our teen boys Shabbat morning service was held on May 15. Twice a year, teen boys lead much of the morning service for the congregation. We congratulate our teens: David Cohen, Daniel Dellal, Isaac Haberman, David Lahmani, Benjamin Marks, Jonathan Nathan, Hillel Neumark, Jacob Neumark, Barukh Rohde & Eli Schildkraut. We also thank Rabbi Ira Rohde and Yehudit Robinson for training the readers and organizing the service.

On Wednesday May 19, the first day of Shabuoth, we held our fifth annual girls Ruth reading in the synagogue following services. We congratulate our readers: Elizabeth Aufzien, Isabel Banin, Aliza Freilich, Naomi Freilich, Ariel Haberman, Yaara Kaplan, Julia Levi, Amelia Margolis, Elsie Moche, Aviva Ramirez & Lia Solomon. We also thank Rabbi Ira & Lisa Rohde for training the readers and organizing the reading.

We are delighted that these services and readings have become highlights of our synagogue life. Our children are learning and mastering our unique minhag, and carrying our torch for the next generation.

JUNIOR CONGREGATION By Ms. Lynn Kaye

The end of the year for junior congregation saw two MVP Rookie medals awarded, for excellent participation during Junior Congregation, for participants for whom this is their first year. The first award went to Jack Cohen. His medal was awarded by JC veteran Rachel Okin. Nathan Blum collected the second. His medal was awarded by JC veteran Akiva Haberman.

At the final Junior congregation we thanked Hillel Neumark for his efforts as a JC leader over the past years and wished him a good journey to Israel, where he is going to study for a year. The final JC was marked by an end of the year picnic lunch in central park, with activities for kids and small group Torah study for the adults.

Youth prayers continue informally through the summer, led by JC prefects from 10.30-10.50am each Shabbat.
